Are You A Warrior or a Worrier?

Worry is a misuse of the imagination.
Dan Zadra

Several months ago, a friend was overwhelmed with worry about her adult daughter’s serious health challenges. In a reply via e-mail, I invited her to notice that by simply rearranging a couple vowels, she could be a WARRIOR for good thoughts and prayers rather than a WORRIER plagued by anxiety. She then responded, “You must share that in a blog,” as she expressed what an “ah hah” moment it was for her to change her perspective by simply thinking of those two words. I define a WARRIOR as a person of courage and strength, whereas a worrier is beset predominantly by anxieties, uneasiness and disturbing thoughts. And, what we think about expands for ill or for good.

In the midst of the current economic meltdown, which the U.S. is now experiencing, plus serious concerns politically on where our country is headed, combined with record unemployment rates, it is a good time to consider whether we are vibrating as a WARRIOR or a Worrier. Focusing on what you do want creates a shift energetically. It is like a coupling hose to your Stream of Well Being asking for what you do want, which then accelerates your heart’s desires through renewed intentions, thoughts and actions.

Why would you keep paying to see the same bad movie?
Alan Cohen

The key is what are you focusing on? The element that keep us from receiving our heart’s desires is staying focused on what we don’t want. When something is not working in our lives, doing more of it won’t work any better. As Carlos Castaneda said, “The trick is in what one emphasizes. We either make ourselves miserable, or we make ourselves happy. The amount of work is the same.”

Most everyone online has Anti-virus protection software that scans messages and programs for viruses. The same comparison can be made for scanning our thought patterns, which are our personal vibrational signal to the Universe, as well as “old programming” residing in our minds 24/7. When I defrag my PC, there is an analysis display, volume and cluster size, space used, plus free space available, etc. As a metaphor, how much of the time are we spending as a Creator versus Reactor? Are we filled primarily with life-giving positive feelings of abundance, love, joy, appreciation, health or negative thought viruses of fear, frustration, lack, anger, blame and criticism? What inner programs are we consistently running? My virus protection program randomly pops on up on the screen with the following choices: (which are also options we have as a mirror for our thoughts):

  1. I want to update now
  2. Be reminded later
  3. Continue what I was doing

We can download, prepare to install or uninstall as we monitor the screen of our minds. It is a choice we all make—it isn’t always easy, but it is a matter of focus. There are also times in life when you stand up for what you believe. Someone expressed it well:

It’s important to let people know what you stand for.
It’s equally important to let them know what you won’t stand for.

If you were to scan your thought energies hourly, where are they frequently clustered? What are you allowing to permanently reside on your internal hard drive as predominant thought patterns? What are you putting out to the Universe or regularly speaking about? How often do you update for mental and verbal “viruses” by scanning your daily life? What is being most repeatedly displayed on the screen of your consciousness? What life arenas can you defrag currently by becoming aware of how connected you are to your Stream of Well Being (feeeeeling good) or disconnected (fragmented) and feeling bad or sad. As you know, there are only two e-motions (energy in motion)—one feels good and one feels bad.

The difference between try and triumph is often a little more umph.

Recently my husband, Duaine, had critical health challenges and was admitted to the hospital. Crisis is always a turning point and energy for change whether it be personally, or on a collective level like the United States is experiencing with our economy. Most of us resist change because it temporarily puts us into the wobbles of uncertainty and the unknown. However, CRISIS AWAKENS! Usually it occurs when we didn’t pay attention to the signals around us. Typically, crisis is a decisive turning point and we have new choices because crisis helps us become more conscious. What looks like our greatest limitation in the moment, can become a time of personal empowerment. Deepak Chopra said it well, “Intention is your decision and attention is your focus.”

An attitude of gratitude provides your latitude and altitude in daily life.

If we had not gone to the dr. when we did on Sept. 22, there is chance Duaine would not be alive today, as it was a close call. I immediately gave thanks for the doctors, who were going to do the procedures, as well as the nurses and all the hospital staff. I appreciated that St. Joe had valet parking, which I think must be a rarity in most hospitals—and what a thoughtful convenience.   The support and prayers of family and friends was beyond what I can adequately express.   Duaine’s goal was to be home by his 77th birthday and he was! Our son, his girlfriend and our grandchildren brought in food, cards, gifts, balloons; friends called and sent e-mails and birthday cards with good thoughts, as well as flowers delivered from several friends and family. This energy all surrounded Duaine with healing love.

Did Duaine and I initially detour into fear? You bet! But the acronym for FEAR also means: Forever Experiencing Another Reality. I had a teleclass scheduled on Sept. 22nd with Kate Nowak on masterminding that had over 500 people pre-registered. I prayed for divine order and asked for help to get through the call easily and gracefully. Incidentally, Kate and I now have a mastermind web site and our next teleclass is scheduled on Monday, October 20th at 9 pm ET and 6 pm Pacific. You can check it out at: http://www.funwithmasterminding.com/

We are blessed to have choice and free will in our daily lives. Which reality we choose to participate in—as a WARRIOR or a WORRIER? Every time we “defrag” our lives by knowing what we don’t want, we then have more “volume” and space to ask and receive what we do want. It is a cosmic re-set button that oozes a fresh, pure, clear 100% signal to the Universe. Like our computers, we are then turned on, tuned up and connected 100% at optimum new levels. And that, my friends, is true abundance.
